Your nervous system has been talking to you your whole life — through tension, fatigue, racing thoughts, shutdown. Unfortunately, most of us were never taught to listen.
This workshop is for the high-achievers and professionals who've learned to override what their bodies are telling them just to keep going. Over 90 minutes, we'll slow down and start building a different relationship with your body; one rooted in understanding, not overriding.
What we'll cover:
· Nervous system basics and polyvagal theory, explained simply.
· Why we learned to intellectualize instead of listen, and how to shift that.
· A guided body scan to build body literacy.
· How stress and trauma actually register in the body.
· The toll of racism, colorism, and anti-Blackness as chronic stress ("weathering").
· A regulation toolkit for your stress response: fight, flight, freeze, or fawn.
· Trusted referrals for continued support.
You'll leave with: a working understanding of your own nervous system, a clearer sense of your go-to stress response, and practices you can use immediately.
This isn't generic stress management. It's trauma-informed and somatically grounded, built specifically with Black women's lived experience in mind.
Please note: This workshop is educational and psychoeducational in nature. It is not therapy, and it is not a substitute for individual therapy or mental health treatment. If you're navigating something deeper, trusted referrals will be shared for continued support.
