Hi! I’m Desiree!
Licensed therapist. Former educator. Lifelong learner. Someone who knows firsthand what it takes to come home to yourself.
The Journey That Led Here
Throughout my life, I’ve had several life transitions that changed my life in one way or another. In 2005 I got braces. In 2013, I started a weight loss journey, losing a total of 60 pounds in 4 years. In 2017 I completed my graduate program with a degree I never used. In 2023, I left my soul-depleting job as a teacher with no other plan than to eventually finish my second graduate program. In 2025 I became a licensed marriage and family therapist associate. Along this journey I call my life, I discovered something significant: real transformation starts with confidence and self-trust.
Like many of us, the 2020 pandemic threw me off track. For five years I stopped prioritizing my own health, and I felt the impact in my mind, my body, and my spirit. In 2025, I chose to come home to myself again and this time, I’m doing it with a deep commitment to helping other women do the same.
There’s something I want you to know before you read anything else on this page: I didn’t arrive at this work from a place of having it all figured out. I arrived here the same way many of my clients do, through the kind of life that teaches you, sometimes painfully, what you’re actually made of.
“Real transformation starts with confidence and self-trust. I didn’t just study that; I lived it. And it’s what I bring into the room with every client I work with.”
Who I Am as a Therapist
Something I find important is building strong relationships with my clients. I always say, “You’re not gonna tell your business to someone you don’t like or trust.”. Before any interventions, I want to get to know your story. I’m not here to tell you what to do or sit in silence while you figure it out. I’m a collaborative therapist who believes that you’re the expert of your own life and my role is to ask the questions that help to guide you on this journey.
I work with high-achieving women who are doing everything right on the outside but struggling quietly on the inside. Women who are ready and willing to do the deeper work.
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate holding an M.Ed., currently seeing clients in Texas. My work is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and grounded in evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, attachment theory, somatic awareness, mindfulness-based practices, and the Gottman Method for couples.
What I Help Women With
Breaking free from self-doubt, imposter syndrome, and the exhausting performance of confidence they don’t always feel
Understanding and dismantling people-pleasing patterns rooted in early relational experiences
Building boundaries that are grounded in self-respect, not fear of conflict
Navigating anxiety and depression with tools that go beyond symptom management
Processing major life transitions and finding clarity about who they’re becoming
Strengthening communication and connection in their most important relationships
Where Healing Her Confidence Began
This practice is the convergence of everything I am: the therapist, the woman who has navigated her own reinvention, the educator, who creates tools and resources for deeper learning, the speaker who has stood in rooms full of people and said the thing that needed to be said. Healing Her Confidence is a space for women to stop surviving their lives and start actually inhabiting them.
Healing Her Confidence wasn’t born in a boardroom. It was born in the quiet, honest moments of my own healing journey when I realized that the tools I was learning, the clarity I was building, and the confidence I was reclaiming were things every woman deserved access to.
